Topics to be discussed include:

At the conclusion of the presentation, attendees will be able to:

• Distinguish between pre-award surveys and post-award accounting system audits, and document at least 3 key differences using examples from recent audit cases and DCAA guidance.
• Compile a toolkit of common audit preparation practices and resources, including internal checklists, DCAA materials, and peer-reviewed readiness strategies, to support upcoming audit planning.
• Summarize the latest DCAA audit program updates and publicly available resources in a concise reference sheet for internal distribution and team alignment.
• Develop a risk mitigation plan by identifying at least 5 frequent audit findings and proposing corrective actions to address each, based on historical audit data and auditor feedback.
• Create a phase-based audit readiness checklist that includes essential tips and common pitfalls for each stage of the audit (pre-audit, during audit, post-audit), and share it with the advisory marketing team for review.
• Explain the benefits of an approved accounting system and the implications of non-compliance, using real-world examples to highlight strategic advantages and risks in government contracting.
